Several have asked about the dress code, there is one. Guests,
young and old are invited to dress in Southern 1860's era
costume but that is not required. The other option is
semi-formal attire, this is a formal ball and a grand
opportunity to "dress for the occasion". Ladies are encouraged
to wear gloves.
Most of the dances are done in a group, multi- generational
format. Lots of fun for all.

Volunteers Make the Difference for
Texas Children in Foster Care
When a child enters
the foster care system because his or her home is no longer
safe because of abuse or neglect, a judge may appoint a
committed volunteer, called a CASA or Court Appointed Special
Advocate™. CASA volunteers research case records
and speak to everyone in a child’s life, including their
family members, teachers, doctors, lawyers, social workers and
others. The volunteer’s independent evaluations and advocacy
help judges make the best decisions needed to help keep the
child safe. Texas CASA needs volunteers from all over the
state. Volunteers can come from all walks of life.
Substantial training is provided and volunteers are never
expected to place themselves in dangerous situations.
CASA volunteers offer children a consistent, helping hand to
guide them through the foster care system to safe, permanent
homes.
